Youghal Community Archives

This website is all about Youghal – meet the people, hear their stories, see how and where the lived and died. We welcome the story of families, clubs and work. Here you can browse through photos, memories, stories and historical information about Youghal and the surrounding areas.

About us

This website is created by a group of volunteers under the guidance of the Irish Community Archive Network and Cork County Council Heritage Office. These groups include Youghal Active Retirement Association (YARA), Youghal Celebrates History and Cumann na Daoine who have worked together to bring the story to life.

We’re always interested in new recruits, so if you’re interested please contact us. There are several other groups involved in this community website – the Youghal Business Alliance and First Cut Youth Film Festival and there are also individual persons and families who are providing us with the assets (documents, film and photographs) which will make this archive an invaluable aid to anyone researching Youghal and the surrounding areas.
